70S-2 is a triple deoxidized (aluminium, titanium, zirconium) tig filler wire, for welding chromoly tube, structural steel, carbon steel, pipe, fittings, castings and mild steels that are rusty or dirty. The less fluid weld pool makes it easier to control when welding out of position, making it ideal for all position welding of small diameter pipe. Perfect for roll-cage welding on race cars!

ER 70S-2 is a versatile wire used for many mild steel applications, including joining chromoly to itself, or to other mild steel components. 70S2 is the preferred filler wire for welding chromoly tubing, because of its ease of use. However, we recommend a dedicated 4130 Chromoly filler wire if you’re heat treating the welded joint or needing the highest possible strength joints.
